SpaRator 8.7: Outstanding

Waldorf Astoria Orlando

Waldorf Astoria Orlando - An Official Walt Disney World Hotel, 14200 Bonnet Creek Resort Ln, Orlando, FL 32821, USA

SpaRator

Florida's first resort spa with a Himalayan Salt Room — strong, but newly mid-pack post-Conrad.
8.7 out of 10
0246810
At 24,000 sq ft and 22 treatment rooms with a 70-provider team led by Lisa Grande, this remains Hilton's flagship Orlando spa proposition. The point of difference: Florida's first resort spa Himalayan Salt Room (one of seven in the US at launch), the new Salt Solace combining halotherapy with a Himalayan Salt Stone Massage, and Tupelo honey signature ingredients. The friction: 21% service charge, treatment-required facility access. Right for couples wanting Hilton-flagship luxury near Disney; wrong for guests benchmarking on Orlando's top tier.

The Spa Experience at Waldorf Astoria Orlando

The Waldorf Astoria Orlando is Hilton’s flagship Orlando hotel-spa proposition — an Official Walt Disney World Hotel within the 482-acre Bonnet Creek Nature Preserve, three miles from Disney Springs, sitting alongside its sister Signia by Hilton property and operating as the recently reimagined luxury anchor of the Bonnet Creek cluster.

The Spa, Specifically

24,000 sq ft on the third floor, 22 treatment rooms, and a 70-provider team under Director of Spa Operations Lisa Grande. The point of difference is salt: Waldorf Astoria Orlando was the first full-service resort spa in Florida to install a Himalayan Salt Room (one of only seven such rooms in the US at launch).

The post-2023 reimagination of the Salt Solace treatment room combines halotherapy inhalation with a Himalayan Salt Stone Massage on a Lemi table — the only room of its kind in the Orlando market.

The Isle of Serenity Room houses Lemi Spa Dream tables for the Sand & Sea Treatment, using color therapy, spherical quartz, and a heated water mattress.

Signature skin treatments incorporate Tupelo honey, and a partnership with the UK’s Lola’s Apothecary was expanded in 2024. Salt Room sessions are priced at $45 for 30 minutes and $90 for 60 minutes; the Himalayan Salt Escape package starts at $218. All spa services attract a 21% service charge.

Who’s Right, Who’s Wrong

Right for couples on a Disney-anchored trip wanting Hilton-flagship luxury and a credible spa proposition without the Ritz’s drive — three miles to Disney Springs is the strongest geographic position of any Orlando luxury hotel-spa. Right for halotherapy-curious guests; the Salt Room and Salt Solace experiences don’t exist elsewhere in the market.

Wrong for guests benchmarking on Orlando’s top tier — both Ritz (scale) and Conrad (innovation) materially exceed Waldorf on the headline metrics. Wrong for guests reactive to the 21% service charge or the treatment-required spa-facility access gate.

Where It Sits in the Market

Until Conrad Orlando opened in January 2024, Waldorf Astoria Orlando was credibly Orlando’s #2 hotel-spa proposition behind the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes. Conrad’s arrival — combined with the loss of Spa Director Lindsay Neeley to Conrad in 2024 — has shifted Waldorf to a contested third position.

Its enduring advantages: the Disney-proximity geographic edge, the Himalayan Salt Room category differentiation no competitor replicates, and the December 2023 Parker Torres Design property-wide reimagination. JW Marriott Bonnet Creek’s Spa by JW (smaller at 10,000 sq ft) is the closest competitor at Bonnet Creek.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What makes Waldorf Astoria Orlando's spa distinctive in the market?

Three things. First, it's the first full-service resort spa in Florida to offer a Himalayan Salt Room — one of only seven such rooms in the US at launch. Second, the Salt Solace treatment room combines halotherapy with a Himalayan Salt Stone Massage on a Lemi table, introduced after the 2023 property-wide reimagination. Third, the Isle of Serenity Room houses Lemi Spa Dream tables for the Sand & Sea Treatment — color therapy plus heated quartz water mattress.

How big is the spa?

#003162

$45 for a 30-minute session, $90 for 60 minutes. Each session includes use of the spa's Jacuzzi tub and steam room. The Himalayan Salt Escape package — 1 hour in the salt room plus a 50-minute massage — is priced from $218.

What's the signature ingredient?

Tupelo honey, sourced locally and infused into the spa's bespoke skin treatments, products, and personalised therapies. Lola's Apothecary, a UK brand, expanded its menu partnership with the spa through 2024.

Who runs the spa?

Lisa Grande, Director of Spa Operations. Grande introduced the Salt Solace treatment room after the 2023 reimagination. Her predecessor Lindsay Neeley moved to lead the spa at the newly opened Conrad Orlando in 2024 — a notable industry transition in the Orlando market.

When was the property last renovated?

A property-wide reimagination led by interior design firm Parker Torres Design was unveiled December 5, 2023. The transformation covered all guest rooms and suites, the lobby arrival, the spa, both flagship restaurants (Bull & Bear and Peacock Alley), and a complete restoration of the 18-hole Waldorf Astoria Golf Club.

Is there a service charge added to spa treatments?

Yes — a 21% service charge is added to all spa services. Worth noting at booking, as this materially adjusts the visible treatment price.

Can Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek guests use the spa?

Yes. Signia is the adjacent sister property; all Waldorf Astoria Spa services and treatments are available to Signia guests on the same terms.

Is the spa open to non-hotel guests?

Yes. The Waldorf Astoria Spa is available to outside visitors via direct booking and day-pass platforms. Spa facility access (lockers, sauna, steam room, salt rooms) requires a treatment booking.

What's the salon's standout service?

The Dead Sea Mineral Mud Hair Treatment — uses mineral-rich Dead Sea mud to repair and restore damaged hair. Hair and make-up services are appointment-only and book up quickly.

How close is Disney?

The Waldorf Astoria Orlando is on Disney property — three miles from Disney Springs, with shuttle service to the theme parks. It's an Official Walt Disney World Hotel.

What spa amenities are included with treatment booking?

The eucalyptus-scented steam sauna, Jacuzzi tub, resort pool, locker room, plush robes and slippers, and Tea Lounge access. The Himalayan Salt Room is priced separately as either a standalone session or a package add-on.
