The Spa Experience at Naples Grande Beach Resort
Naples Grande Beach Resort occupies a position in the Naples market that no competitor can structurally replicate. The 23-acre property sits within 200 acres of protected mangrove estuary, and the only route to its three miles of Gulf beach runs through Clam Pass Park — a 3,000-foot boardwalk beneath a canopy of black mangroves, or a tram ride through it. That transit is the resort’s signature move. It alters the arrival pace in a way that beachfront lobbies cannot replicate.
The Spa at Naples Grande is arranged across four Japanese-inspired pavilions connected by covered walkways that separate treatment zones from each other and from the resort’s energy. Twelve treatment rooms, a couples’ suite with a private plunge pool, and a Meditation Lounge anchor the core facility.
The treatment menu extends beyond the price tier suggests: Ayurvedic Abhyanga massage, salt floatation bath therapy, Hydrafacials, CBD-infused bodywork, and a technology suite — NuCalm, Avacen, and Cryolift Pro — that most resort spas at this level do not offer. The float tank is the headline differentiator: no other resort in Naples offers saltwater floatation.
The honest limitation: guest reviews have flagged cracked tiles, a damp odour in wet areas, and cramped changing spaces. The pavilion architecture works, but the maintenance standard has not kept pace.
Beyond the spa, a Rees Jones par-72 championship golf course wraps around a 30-acre lake with no residential intrusion. Fifteen Har-Tru tennis courts, three heated pools with a 100-foot waterslide, seven restaurants, and 474 rooms round out a self-contained compound 2.5 miles north of downtown Fifth Avenue South.
Henderson Park acquired the property for $248 million in 2022 and closed it from April through December 2026 for a full renovation — including rooms, the lobby, the spa, the pools, and dining. Watch for reopening rates and a revised SpaRator assessment in early 2027.
Who’s it for
Families and couples who want recreational depth — golf, tennis, pools, beach — alongside a spa that goes beyond the standard massage-and-facial menu.
Who’s it Not for
Design-conscious travellers expecting contemporary luxury finishes. Solo wellness seekers looking for spa-first immersion.
Is it Worth the Price
At off-season rates ($200–$350/night), firmly yes. At peak-season rates ($500–$750+), the pre-renovation condition of the room and the $40 resort fee created friction. Post-renovation, reassess.
Pros and Cons
Pros: Mangrove boardwalk beach access, float tank, technology-forward treatment menu, Rees Jones private golf, 15 Har-Tru courts, named therapists with durable reputations. Cons: Pre-renovation rooms and wet areas needed work, $40 daily resort fee, beach is a tram ride, not a lobby walk, closed April–December 2026.
Best Alternatives
The Ritz-Carlton, Naples (beachfront, direct beach access, higher price). Naples Beach Club, A Four Seasons Resort (new-build, 30,000 sq ft spa, top of market). LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort (beachfront boutique, no thermal facilities).
Booking Strategy
Book off-season for the strongest value. Check Groupon for spa day packages. Post-renovation, book early — the first full peak season after reopening (January–March 2027) will test capacity and repriced rates.
Best Room Types
Garden Villa Suites for space and ground-floor terrace access. Tower Suites on upper floors for Gulf panoramas.
When to Go
February–March for peak weather, with rates marginally lower than holiday pricing. October for warmth, low rates, and thin crowds. Avoid April–December 2026.
Best Spa Days
Weekday mornings for therapist availability. The Serenity Couple package (three hours: couples massage, salt bath floatation, infrared sauna) is the most complete single-visit experience.

Frequently Asked Questions:
How do you get to the beach from Naples Grande?
The beach is not directly adjacent to the resort. Guests reach Clam Pass Beach via a 3,000-foot boardwalk through a protected mangrove estuary — about a 15-minute walk — or by taking the complimentary tram that runs from 8:00 AM through sunset. Beach chairs and towels are free for resort guests; umbrellas cost $15 plus tax per day.
What spa facilities are included with a treatment booking?
Any spa treatment booking grants access to the Spa Villa amenities: an outdoor whirlpool on the sun deck, an unisex sauna, an unisex steam room, and the Meditation Lounge. A standalone Spa Pass is also available for guests who want access to the facility without booking a treatment.
What is the Salt Floatation Bath Therapy?
A 30-minute session in a saltwater-filled tub that creates a zero-gravity floating environment. It reduces muscle tension, lowers cortisol, and promotes deep relaxation. Available as an individual treatment or as part of the Serenity Couple package — a three-hour experience that pairs an 80-minute couples massage with 30 minutes of couples salt bath floatation and infrared sauna access.
What are the advanced wellness treatments?
The spa offers three technology-driven treatments beyond its core massage and facial menu. NuCalm uses patented neuroscience technology to lower stress and improve sleep. Avacen applies thermotherapy and negative pressure to the palms, increasing the microcirculation system-wide. The Cryolift Pro Machine uses ultrasound, radio frequency, and cooling technology for non-invasive body contouring.
Is there a resort fee?
Yes. A $40 daily resort fee covers in-room Wi-Fi, two bottles of water per day, bike rentals, fitness centre access, and the beach tram service. This fee is charged in addition to the nightly room rate.
Can non-guests use the spa?
Yes. The Spa at Naples Grande accepts day spa guests and periodically offers packages through third-party platforms. A Spa Pass granting facility access without a treatment booking is available.
What is the golf course like?
Naples Grande Golf Club is a private Rees Jones-designed par-72 championship course measuring just under 7,000 yards from the back tees with six tee box options. The layout wraps around a 30-acre lake with no residential properties bordering the fairway. Resort guests receive preferred tee times and rates. The club operates independently and remains open during the 2026 resort renovation.
How far is downtown Naples?
The resort is 2.5 miles north of Fifth Avenue South — about an 8-minute drive. Waterside Shops, an upscale open-air retail centre, sits less than a mile south.
Is the resort family-friendly?
Very. Three heated pools, a 100-foot waterslide, kids' programming, 15 tennis courts, the golf course, and the beach tram make this one of the stronger family-oriented luxury options in Naples.
What is the 2026 renovation?
Naples Grande closes guest accommodations from 1 April 2026 through 31 December 2026 for a major refurbishment. The project covers guest rooms, suites, lobby, spa, pool areas, dining venues, and event spaces. Rhode's End restaurant, Clam Pass beach services, select villas, the tennis academy, and the golf club remain operational throughout. The resort was acquired by London-based Henderson Park in 2022 for $248 million. This renovation represents the most significant property investment since that acquisition.
Are the rooms dated?
Pre-renovation, guest reviews consistently flagged the rooms as functional but overdue for a refresh — comfortable enough, but not matching the rate premium during peak season. The 2026 renovation directly addresses this. Post-renovation rooms and suites have not yet been reviewed.
What restaurants are on-site?
Seven restaurants and bars operate across the property, with Rhode's End — a beachfront Mediterranean restaurant at Clam Pass — drawing the strongest reviews. During the renovation period (April–December 2026), only Rhode's End and limited dining options will remain open.
