Arizona Spa Hotels by Region and Score

Scottsdale is the starting answer: 17 scored hotels, five hot-and-cold circuits and the biggest summer discounts. Sedona holds the state's top SpaRator score and one exceptional program. Phoenix is the all-inclusive thermal-springs stay, and Tucson is the program resort market with Arizona's lowest published peak all-in.

Across the 39 hotels scored under the current method, 10 publish a hot-and-cold circuit: five in Scottsdale, four in Phoenix, zero in Sedona and one in Tucson. Access is the catch. Ten of the 17 Scottsdale hotels and six of the 10 Phoenix hotels gate the spa behind a treatment or a pass, while six hotels include access in the stay and day passes stay rare.

Prices follow the season. Median all-in nights for an entry room on a single Saturday ran $842 in Scottsdale and $850 in Phoenix in October 2026, then dropped 58.8% in Scottsdale and 46.3% in Phoenix off-season on the same room class. February and March sit at the dearest end, June through August at the cheapest. Mii amo and Canyon Ranch Tucson price per person, a different basis from any room rate. The four chapters below walk through what each market delivers.

The Four Arizona Markets

Choose Scottsdale for depth and the biggest discounts, Phoenix for all-inclusive springs, Sedona for the structured wellness stay, and Tucson for medical programming or the lowest peak price.

Scottsdale

At The Spa at CIVANA, two white chaise sofas face each other and glass doors open to a mountain view.
CIVANA Wellness Resort and Spa

Scottsdale does depth best: 17 scored spa hotels, the deepest of Arizona's four markets, and five hot-and-cold circuits. CIVANA Wellness Resort and Spa leads it with a Kneipp hot/cold wading pool, a KLAFS sanarium and a cold deluge shower, free on a booked treatment day, with a $60 nightly resort fee and a $349 day pass. The catch is access: gating sits at 10 of 17 hotels, and even the leader's circuit costs a treatment. Scottsdale suits travelers who want the widest choice, the state's biggest summer discounts and a serious circuit, provided they read the access rules before booking. See the full ranked set in the Scottsdale spa hotels guide.

Phoenix

Castle Hot Springs

Phoenix does all-inclusive thermal springs best, and Castle Hot Springs fronts the market with three spring-fed soaking pools and a cold plunge open around the clock, meals, gratuities and activities bundled into an adults-only rate with a $0 resort fee and no day pass. The catch sits in the rest of the market: six of the ten scored hotels gate spa access behind a booked treatment, and the median peak all-in runs $850 for an entry room on a single Saturday, with one hotel at $2,648 (October 2026). Phoenix suits the springs-first traveler, the all-inclusive guest, and anyone after a hot-and-cold circuit at four of its ten hotels. See the full ranked set in the Phoenix spa hotels guide.

Sedona

Yoga mats with folded plaid blankets and foam blocks line a pale wood floor beside weights and a built-in bench.
Mii amo

Sedona is the state's destination-spa town, and Mii amo sets the standard with 21 treatment rooms, the only hot-and-cold circuit in the city and spa access included in a per-person Journey. The catch is how you get in. There is no day pass and no walk-in access, so the only route without booking Mii amo's multi-night program is a stay at Enchantment Resort plus a booked treatment. The market suits travelers who want a structured wellness stay in red-rock country and are willing to price the trip per person, not per room. See the full Sedona set and the alternative routes in our Sedona spa hotels guide.

Tucson

Cream swivel armchairs with rust-and-white cushions sit in a lounge with a wood floor, sheer-curtained windows, shelved skincare and a sun-hat rack.
Loews Ventana Canyon Resort

Tucson's draw is the program stay at Canyon Ranch Tucson, with 80,000 square feet, the city's only hot-and-cold circuit and medical programming priced per person with spa access included. The catch is the entry: a day pass runs $500 peak or $450 off-peak, Monday to Thursday only, and the lowest entry-room peak all-in in the state belongs to a hotel with no heat or cold rooms. It suits solo wellness seekers after a no-wallet program week and budget travelers chasing a $200 peak night. See the ten-hotel set in the Tucson hub.

Arizona Spa Hotel FAQs

Which Are the Best Spa Resorts in Arizona?

Mii amo leads Arizona's 39 scored spa resorts at 8.6, with a heat-only circuit (sauna, whirlpool, steam room), spa access in a per-person Journey and no resort fee. Castle Hot Springs is the all-inclusive adults-only pick at 8.5, with three spring-fed pools, a cold plunge, no day pass and no resort fee. CIVANA Wellness Resort and Spa's hot-and-cold circuit comes free only on a treatment day, at 8.1. For a structured program with access included, Canyon Ranch Tucson's 80,000 square feet scores 7.5.

Should I Choose Canyon Ranch Tucson or Miraval?

Compare Canyon Ranch Tucson with the other included-access wellness resorts, because Miraval is not scored on this page. Canyon Ranch Tucson scores 7.5 on an 80,000-square-foot spa complex with a hot-and-cold circuit, medical programming and per-person pricing that includes access and the program. Mii amo is the closer call at 8.6, also per-person with access included, while Castle Hot Springs is the all-inclusive alternative at 8.5. Choose Canyon Ranch for its physician-led medical layer and no-wallet programming week. Choose Mii amo for a structured Journey in Sedona, and Castle Hot Springs for hot springs included in an adult-only stay.

Which Arizona City Is Best for a Spa Trip?

Scottsdale is the default for depth, with 17 scored hotels, five hot-and-cold circuits and the largest summer discounts of the four markets. Phoenix suits the all-inclusive thermal-springs stay at Castle Hot Springs and has ten hotels. Sedona is the call for the state's top score at Mii amo (8.6) and one exceptional program. Tucson is the program-and-price market, with Canyon Ranch Tucson at 7.5 and Westward Look's $200 peak all-in in September 2026. Choose by priority: Scottsdale for choice and discounts, Phoenix for hot springs included, Sedona for a structured wellness stay, and Tucson for medical programming or the lowest peak entry price.

What Does a Night at an Arizona Spa Resort Cost?

Median peak all-in for an entry room on a single Saturday runs $842 in Scottsdale and $850 in Phoenix, October 2026 figures that include fees and tax. Off-season, the same rooms drop 58.8% in Scottsdale and 46.3% in Phoenix. Mii amo and Canyon Ranch Tucson do not follow this scale, because they price per person per night rather than per room. Nightly resort fees across the state run from $0 to $150, and spa service charges where published run 20% to 22%. The lesson is to read the fee stack before comparing headline rates.

When Is the Best Time to Book an Arizona Spa Hotel?

June through August is the cheapest stretch in Phoenix and Scottsdale, while February and March run dearest. The median all-in night on the same entry room drops 58.8% from peak to off-season in Scottsdale and 46.3% in Phoenix in the October 2026 checks. Tucson's measured hotels fall 15.0% to 16.1%, and the per-person rates dip 24% at Mii amo and 17% at Canyon Ranch Tucson. Those figures come from the October 2026 rate checks, not a single stay date. Book a June-to-August stay for the biggest all-in discount, or accept late-winter pricing if your dates are fixed.

Which Arizona Spa Resorts Are All-Inclusive?

Arizona has six scored hotels under the current method that include spa access with the stay: Castle Hot Springs, Hotel Valley Ho, Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale, Curio Collection by Hilton, Mii amo, Canyon Ranch Tucson and Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa. Of those, Castle Hot Springs is fully all-inclusive, with meals, gratuities, activities and the springs in an adults-only rate. Canyon Ranch Tucson is priced per person and includes its program and spa access. Mii amo also prices per person on a three-night Journey and includes spa access, though it is not a room-rate basis. The other three include access with a standard resort stay.

Can I Visit an Arizona Spa Without Staying Overnight?

A day visit is possible at only a handful of Arizona's 39 scored spa hotels under the current method, and several Scottsdale properties such as Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia sell access only through ResortPass rather than the hotel. JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa sells a Spa Day Pass from $105, the only hotel-published spa pass. CIVANA Wellness Resort and Spa in Scottsdale charges $349 with a 60-minute treatment, and Kimpton Miralina Resort and Villas sells a hydrotherapy pass at $85 for non-guests. In Tucson, Canyon Ranch Tucson opens Monday through Thursday at $500 peak or $450 off-peak, Loews Ventana Canyon Resort charges $65 and Omni Tucson National Resort & Spa charges $25. Castle Hot Springs and Mii amo sell no day pass.

Which Arizona Spa Resort Is Best for a Wellness Stay?

Mii amo (8.6) is the strongest pick for a structured wellness Journey in Sedona, with 21 treatment rooms, the only hot-and-cold circuit there and spa access included in a per-person rate. Canyon Ranch Tucson (7.5) pairs physician-led medical programming with an 80,000-square-foot spa and includes access in its per-person all-inclusive program. CIVANA Wellness Resort and Spa (8.1) offers a hot-and-cold Aqua Therapy Circuit on a booked treatment day, plus a $60 nightly fee and a $349 day pass. Castle Hot Springs (8.5) is the all-inclusive adults-only choice, with three spring-fed thermal pools and a cold plunge open around the clock. Choose Mii amo for immersion, Canyon Ranch for medical programming, CIVANA for a circuit stay or Castle Hot Springs for hot springs included.

Which Arizona Hotels Have a Hot-And-Cold Circuit?

Ten of the 39 Arizona hotels scored under the current method publish a hot-and-cold circuit. Scottsdale has five: CIVANA Wellness Resort and Spa 8.1, Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia 7.8, Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort 7.5, The Scottsdale Resort and Spa 7.1 and Kimpton Miralina Resort and Villas 6.4. Phoenix has four: Castle Hot Springs 8.5, The Global Ambassador 7.8, Arizona Biltmore 7.6 and Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak 6.5. Sedona's only circuit is Mii amo 8.6, and Tucson's is Canyon Ranch Tucson 7.5. Gating is the catch: 10 of 17 Scottsdale hotels and 6 of 10 in Phoenix gate access, while Mii amo, Castle Hot Springs and Canyon Ranch include it in the stay.

What Are the Biggest Spas in Arizona?

The largest published spa footprint in Arizona is Canyon Ranch Tucson at 80,000 square feet. Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale, Curio Collection by Hilton has 33,000 square feet, Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia publishes about 31,000, and Arizona Biltmore and JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge each list 28,000. One caveat: Mii amo's 42,000-square-foot figure covers its whole destination complex, restaurant and gardens included, not the spa alone. The smallest published footprint is 3,000 square feet at Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa. Size does not equal access, since several of the largest gate their circuit.

Where Can I Find a Cheap Arizona Spa Getaway?

Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa posted a $200 peak all-in in September 2026, the lowest peak figure in the state, but it has no sauna, steam room or cold plunge. In Scottsdale, the cheapest off-season all-in is $147 at The Scottsdale Resort and Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton in October 2026, and the cheapest Phoenix off-season figure in the same check is $233 at Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Buttes. These are entry-room, single-Saturday figures with fees and tax included. Cheaper off-season nights carry the same access terms as peak, so a low rate does not buy circuit access where the hotel gates it. Check the fee stack before booking a bargain.

Does Arizona Have Natural Hot Springs at Spa Resorts?

Castle Hot Springs is Arizona's scored natural-springs spa resort, with three soaking pools and a cold plunge fed by its own thermal water, open to overnight guests only. The stay is all-inclusive, adults 18 and over, about an hour from central Phoenix, and carries no resort fee, with a peak all-in of $2,648 in October 2026. No day pass exists, and the booking engine sells a three-night minimum from January through March. Verde Hot Springs is not scored on this page. Our hot springs guide covers how natural-springs soaking compares with a conventional thermal circuit and what to expect before you book.
