Bardessono opened in 2009 on the site of the Bardessono family’s Yountville farmstead and built its identity on two decisions: LEED Platinum construction before it was fashionable, and a spa dissolved into the hotel itself. Sixteen years on, both still distinguish it — and the staff has become the property’s real brand.
The Spa, Specifically
Four treatment rooms would make B Spa the smallest luxury spa in Napa — except the count is a feint. Every one of the 65 suites conceals a massage table, and a Spa Butler converts any room into a treatment space 15–30 minutes before the appointment, using hardware the suites already carry: deep soaking tubs, fireplaces, private outdoor showers.
In-suite treatments are priced identically to the Therapy Center menu — b Massage $275/50 minutes and $395/80, facials from $275 to $475, V-Tox Oxygen, body therapies at $425, in-suite baths $195–$235, including a Warm Spiced Mud Bath at $215. Every price already includes a 21% service charge, paid in full to the spa team.
The facility layer beyond the rooms remains deliberately thin: an infrared sauna, the rooftop lap pool and hot tub (open sunrise to sunset, heated year-round), and weekday-only day guests with a $40 weekend pool pass. Vogue’s Global Spa Guide named it a Top 100 spa in 2024 — for the model, not the square footage.
Who’s Right, Who’s Wrong
Book Bardessono if privacy is the treatment: couples who want the massage in their own suite, dinner at Bouchon on foot, and a staff that reviewers describe as the best in the valley get a version of luxury no Napa estate replicates — quiet, walkable, and service-led.
Book elsewhere if you want spa infrastructure: there is no steam room, no thermal circuit, no soaking culture beyond your own tub, and the rooftop pool is an amenity, not a destination. Bathhouse-seekers belong in Calistoga; grounds-and-activity families belong at a resort with grounds.
Where It Sits in the Market
Against Meadowood, the Napa benchmark, Bardessono concedes the facility contest entirely and answers with consistency: the benchmark’s Five-Star spa operates inside a half-rebuilt estate, while Bardessono’s 9.8 Booking.com score and beloved staff run the valley’s steadiest operation. It’s true Yountville rival, Hotel Yountville, carries more spa hardware (Vichy showers, hydrotherapy tubs) at lower rates but nothing like the service reputation. The four-room count would place B Spa among Napa’s amenity spas; the 65 hidden massage tables are why it competes in the destination conversation at all.

Where is Bardessono, and how far is the airport?
Bardessono is at 6526 Yount St in central Yountville, a block off the town's restaurant row. San Francisco International is about 60 miles and 90 minutes by car — the shortest major-airport run in the valley alongside Stanly Ranch. Once checked in, Yountville works entirely on foot.
What makes B Spa different from other Napa spas?
The architecture. B Spa keeps only four dedicated treatment rooms because every guest suite doubles as one: a concealed massage table, deep soaking tub, fireplace, and private outdoor shower, with a Spa Butler converting the room 15–30 minutes before your appointment. What is the rooftop pool like?
A heated lap pool with cabanas and a hot tub, open sunrise to sunset year-round. It is a swim-and-lounge amenity; the wet-facility depth other Napa spas sell does not exist here, by design.
Is Bardessono good for families?
Children are permitted, but this is a silence-and-privacy property — couples celebrating something dominate the guest mix, and the value of the place is its hush. Families with active kids will get more resort for the money at the Meritage or Four Seasons.
When is Bardessono cheapest?
