Calistoga Spa Hot Springs

The property is at 1006 Washington St, one block off downtown Calistoga's main street. San Francisco International is about 85 miles and two hours by car; Santa Rosa's Charles M. Schulz Airport is roughly 40 minutes. The town is walkable on foot once you arrive.

All outdoor, all geothermal, running 80–104°F: an 82.5-by-24-foot L-shaped lap pool, a 60-by-20-foot soaking pool, a shallow kids' wading pool with a waterfall, and a covered 24-foot octagonal jet pool reserved for adults. It is the best pure pool lineup in Calistoga for the money, and the reason 12-year repeat guests exist here.

Yes — this is the family springs of Calistoga. The wading pool is built for children; the lap and soaking pools are for all ages; and the octagonal jet pool is adults-only. Every other spring, property in town gates harder; that openness is both the differentiator and the source of peak-season crowd complaints.

The property publishes prices only in a PDF menu, so treat figures as phone-confirm: historical pricing puts massages around $183 for 60 minutes, with mud baths below the luxury-tier $170–$251 range. Budget mid-range and call (707) 942-6269 for the current sheet.

The property's own pages disagree — the spa page says ladies daily and men Tuesday–Saturday (the old communal-bathhouse pattern), while the FAQ says mud and mineral baths run Thursday–Sunday. Call before you plan a trip around the mud; the pools run daily regardless.

Communal bathhouse tradition: volcanic ash from Mt. St. Helena and Mt. Konocti, blended with peat, clay, and the property's own geothermal water. Current published options: a $50 Premium Pool Pass added to spa packages, a $75 "Plus One" companion pass (any age, reserved at booking), and a $50 extended pass that keeps departing hotel guests in the pools until 9 p.m. on checkout day. A standalone public day pass no longer appears in current materials.

Renovated motel rooms, many with kitchenettes — practical rather than romantic. The kitchenettes are the sleeper asset: families and long-weekend soakers cook in, which no other Calistoga Springs property supports as well. "Motel vibe at a luxury price tag" is the recurring peak-season complaint.

No — and no room service. The trade-off is the address: downtown Calistoga's restaurants are a five-minute walk away, and the kitchenette rooms include breakfast. Budget the absence into expectations; this is a pools-first operation.

Midweek from December through February, when rooms run roughly $200–$280 — the best warm-water value in Napa Valley. Peak weekends (August–October) reach $330–$600, which is where the value math starts to strain against the motel format.
