SpaRator 7.6: Excellent

Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach

Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach, 100 Coronado Dr, Clearwater, FL 33767, USA

SpaRator

A compact, well-appointed beach spa — strong on wet-area design, limited on scale.
7.6 out of 10
0246810
The 6,000 sq ft Pallavi Luxury Spa is small — six treatment rooms — but the wet areas outperform the footprint: eucalyptus steam, chromotherapy showers, a couples' whirlpool, an outdoor ladies' lanai. Spa Director Lindsey Sappenfield has led the team since 2019. What's missing is a sauna and any real scale, and a $35 resort fee plus valet-only parking draws steady fee complaints. Right for beachfront guests who want a polished spa afternoon, not a destination spa.

Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach opened in 2017 as the largest development on Clearwater Beach — two 15-story towers across from the marina, every room facing water. The on-site Pallavi Luxury Spa is compact at 6,000 sq ft, but it is one of the more thoughtfully appointed spas in the Clearwater cluster.

The Spa, Specifically

Pallavi Luxury Spa occupies the third floor: six treatment rooms plus a couples’ suite with dual tables, a couples’ whirlpool, and an experience shower. For its size, the wet and experience areas are well-judged — eucalyptus steam rooms in both locker rooms, chromotherapy “experience showers” that shift color with pre-set hydrotherapy programs, a co-ed relaxation lounge, and an outdoor “ladies’ lanai.”

The treatment menu leans toward wellness: the herbal-bundle Sea Holistic massage, a Reiki Chakra Balancing treatment, and the Geneo Glo2Facial as the headline facial, with Jurlique and Phytomer among the product lines.

Spa Director Lindsey Sappenfield has led the team since 2019, a continuity that is evident in the steady, professional delivery of treatments. The honest limits are scale and one specific gap: at 6,000 sq ft, this is a small spa, and it has no sauna — only steam rooms — and no plunge pool, hammam, or salt room. A 20% service charge applies, with a $20 peak surcharge on weekend treatments.

Who’s Right, Who’s Wrong

Book Wyndham Grand for a beachfront AAA Four Diamond stay where a polished spa afternoon is part of the plan rather than the whole trip. Couples are the natural fit — the couples’ suite, with its own whirlpool and experience shower, is a genuine feature — and every room’s water view is a real draw.

Book elsewhere if the spa is the reason for the trip: there is no sauna, no thermal progression, and no scale to speak of. Value-focused guests should also price in the stack — resort fee, valet-only parking, the spa service charge, and a weekend treatment surcharge.

Where It Sits in the Market

Pallavi is the smallest of the Clearwater Beach resort spas. The Sandpearl Resort benchmark runs a 12,000 sq ft spa; the newer Opal Sol adds a Himalayan salt room; Pallavi has 6,000 sq ft and no sauna. What it does better than its size suggests is the experience circuit — chromotherapy showers and an outdoor ladies’ lanai give it a more considered wet area than the bare facilities of some larger competitors. Against Sandpearl, it trails on scale; against the Opal Sands spa, it is broadly comparable. The Don CeSar leads the wider Tampa Bay market on outright spa size.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Where is Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach, and how far is the airport?

It is at 100 Coronado Drive on Clearwater Beach. St. Pete–Clearwater International (PIE) is the closest airport at about 12 miles; Tampa International (TPA) is about 20 miles and a 30-to-35-minute drive.

What does the Pallavi Luxury Spa include?

Pallavi Luxury Spa covers 6,000 sq ft on the third floor, with six treatment rooms, a couples' suite, eucalyptus steam rooms, chromotherapy experience showers, a co-ed relaxation lounge, and an outdoor ladies' lanai.

Is there a sauna?

No. The spa has eucalyptus steam rooms in the men's and women's locker rooms, but no sauna — a gap guests sometimes note. There is no plunge pool, hammam, or salt room either.

What is the couples' suite?

A dedicated suite with dual massage tables, a couples' whirlpool tub, and an experience shower. Booking a massage in the couples' suite adds about $20 per couple.

What are the signature spa treatments?

The menu has a wellness lean: signature massages include the herbal-bundle Sea Holistic and a Reiki Chakra Balancing treatment, and the headline facial is the Geneo Glo2Facial. There is also a "Halo" hydrotherapy head-spa scalp treatment.

Is gratuity added to spa services?

Yes. The spa applies a 20% service charge automatically — 18% gratuity to the provider plus a 2% facility fee. A $20 peak surcharge per service also applies Friday through Sunday.

Does the spa offer a day pass?

No. There is no day pass. Spa amenities are accessible one hour before the first service and one hour after the last. The resort pool and hot tub are reserved for hotel guests and spa members — spa-only day visitors do not get pool access.

Is there a resort fee?

Yes — $35 per night. It covers WiFi, two beach chairs and an umbrella, a welcome beverage, fitness center access, and a dining-discount passport.

Is parking free?

No. Parking is valet-only — there is no self-parking option — at $40 per day plus tax, with in-and-out privileges. Oversized vehicles incur an additional fee.

What dining is on-site?

Three outlets: Ocean Hai, the signature restaurant for seafood and Asian fusion; DocK's Pool Bar & Grille for casual poolside fare; and eSKPades, a lobby café and bar.

Is the resort family-friendly?

It welcomes families — there are "bunk bed" family rooms, and children 17 and under stay free on existing bedding — but there is no kids' club. The spa is an adults-oriented space.

Was the resort affected by the 2024 hurricanes?

Hurricane Helene pushed water into the below-grade garage in late 2024, but guest-facing areas were largely spared. The resort reopened about a week after Hurricane Milton, once the causeway bridge reopened.
